ARcserve 2000 Linux Restore to same location

If you are using Linux as your OS, get rid of Arcserve and get Lone-Tar. It's at < Their support is excellent.

The fact that you got LINUX backups is impressive. aRCServ reckon that there software doesn't support this. Or so my email from them says.
ARCServ has real trouble with symbolic links.
Ensure you are running SAMBA and are restoring to the share rather than a link.
If worse comes to worse restore to a WINTEL box and copy the files across.
