We're running Arcserve 2000 v7 build 1100 on an NT 4.0 BDC SP6A. We have(2)backup jobs configured to run a 5-day weekly incremental with Full backups on Friday tape rotation.
The problem is that full backups are being created every night Mon-Thurs(which we don't need). It's as though the archive bit is not being read to recognize if it's an incremental or full backup.
I've tried deleting and recreating the backup jobs with no luck. Reinstalling ArcServe would be a pain and is a last resort simply because the application has been upgraded twice to reach the version we now have. I would rather not go through that if I can avoid it.

What are you trying to backup? A Windows box or Unix/Linux?

Perhaps the archive bits are not set.

Run a Count job with an include filter for File Atribute Archive bit. Lets see what it comes up with.

Count is one of the utilities that come in ARCserve. Count, Copy, etc. It basically counts the files in the job you create.

Keep in mind that an incremental job will turn into a full if you modify the job package.
