Archiving old records

Hello again,
I need to archive some old records, my only problem is that in the date field was set up as a text field and people have their initials next to the date. Any way I can run a query to still show dates prior to 12-31-2001?

Give an specific example of the date with initials. I need to know the date format that was used before I can set it up for ya.

are just a few examples, after looking in the table, things are so inconsistent I don't think it will work. Thanks for the response.
