Use the Import Wizard to create BIAR files. This can be automated by creating the BIAR files from the command line.
However, in that release, it was not very reliable. Also, I think the BIAR file format changed so that an R2 BIAR file could not be used with R3.

APOS has an application for doing this. Also, it's not too difficult to write your own application do to this using one of the SDK's - I've done it for two different employers with different needs.
