I would like to be able to compress a directory and all it's contents and sub-directories in hp unix 10.2 environment. Does anyone have any idea how to do this or what I would need to do this? Thanks.

oops, I meant I would like to compress a directory, it's contents and sub-directories into 1 file.

Use

tar cvf - /dir | compress > files.tar.Z CaKiwi
