my company have give me CS1000 to install. i was installing nortel system in 2006 (only BCM) today they think that it is not verry hard to do.
so it is opportinity for me to learn somme thing. i have MG1010 and proliant HP server tow switchers as material.
CPPM with dongle no HD ---- my conclusion that it will be CPPM CS slot 21).
tow (02) CPDC ------ I thing for Signalig Server (slot 22 for main and Slot 10 for redondancy SS - I am not sure)
I have MGC with daughter card 128 DSP.
somme other card for line and for trunk.
as systeme i have: CF for CPPM.
2 USB_device for CPDC.
and KS new install for SM and SM software.

my questions are :
1- I install in tow CPDC linux base from Usb i can acess to UCM in CPDC in slot 22 probleme when i need to deploy server; i can't upload nai file (always i have USB device busy or not present). what can i do for this ? must i have SMGR for this one
2- till this Step MGC can't register ? where ?
3- can i Install SM with out SMGR and SMGR with out Platform system? if not what can i do to have platforme systeme and SMGR ?
4- can I finish installation of CS and SS and MGC without installing SMGR and SM. and finishing this part later

not sure i understand all of your point but I will try to answer a few:

1. you install the linux base via the usb accessing the server on the 1010 using the tty port associated with the card on the left hand side of the G'way or face plate, once this install is complete you need to access the cpdc via elan connection & web browser. when you do this you can configure your ucm & deploy all required services including nai file & 3 linux patch/ SU updates, the nai can be on the usb or your machine.

2. MGC should register to the CS as long as its specified in the SUPL (ld 97) & the MGC has network access (assuming your CS & MGC can talk)
you should remember to get the latest loadware for the MGC via ESPL

3. System manager isnt required for your CS1k to work, it will still work if you dont configure your UCM correctly as all elements will be out of the Sec domain, but its best to configure your ucm & join all system elements to the sec domain.

Oh yeh forgot to add, until you get all the correct loadware/ firmware onto the gateway the 1010's fans will sound like a jet engine, best to get them done first so you can hear yourself think.

thank you for your answers,
yes I confirm that I have been careful to follow the setup procedure as you describe it in your answer. except I can not upload a file .nai to finish the configuration.
I ask whether to do something specific for upload it and advance in the configuration. there is documetation descibing déffrente mater to upload it from USB or PC.
what mean by "SU updates" and "configure your ucm" what have I to do.
update for linux Where could I find them.
