Morning all....I have an issue with a client of mine that I can't apply a security template created using the sec wizard.

It gets so far then stops, gives a really helpful error of 'cannot apply security policy' that's yer lot, nothing in the event logs and nothing much in the sec logs either.

One of the only differences i can find with that server and my own is that my own has the remote registry service started where as this one doesn't, is that a requirement?

Any assistance would be grand.

Thanks

Will

A GPO essentially makes changes to the registry. That won't happen if the remote registry service is down.
