I have a word document, and I need to applying an external stylistic template (style guide) to my doc. Is there an easy way to do this (i.e. update my styles with the ones held in the external template)?

B

Sure.

Tools-Templates and Addins, attach the template (must be a DOT file).

Or, use the Organizer to COPY the styles into your document. Tools-Templates and Addins, Organizer.

Of course, if your document already uses styles of the same name as that style guide, it's a breeze. Otherwise, you need to apply the styles to your existing document. Attaching the template or copying the styles over does NOTHING unless the styles are applied in the existing doc. Make sense?
