applications not responding after minimized

I'm having issues with a system that when the user minimizes any application, they will not respond after you attempt to refresh it to the desktop. All that will appear is the title bar. You can see the background image, but are unable to click anything, which tells me that the application is in the foreground, but not responding. The application must be end tasked and relaunched to resume opperation.

On another note. This system also has extreme slowness when logging into netware. I'ved timed it out to be between 3 to 3.15 minutes to complete the normal login that every other system completes in about 30 seconds.

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
