Application Question ~ Minister - Working from home 4

This forum has been a great place to get questions answered, sometimes without even asking, so I figured I'd ask for help with this application:

A church, wants to have DID lines. They have two Ministers who work from home...or to make it more clear, when their DID lines ring at the church, the church wants them to be able to take the call at home if they are not "in", so they don't miss any calls or voice mails.

They don't want the Ministers to have to activate anything before leaving the office (church). I haven't recommended anything yet, but they already looked at VOIP and thought it was overkill.

Ideally, I guess, the phones would ring simultaneously at church and at the homes, then go to Norstar VM.

They have approximately 15 phones, so I was hoping to offer them an ICS solution.(possible refurb. $$$ is a factor)

Once again, they want it to be automatic, no call forward buttons to activate, etc.

I have installed MCK units before, but I'm not sure if this is the best solution.

Any suggestions???

Thanks!

(God Bles You if you can help me solve this one)

the only twinning that may work is with a linx ata and maybe having a dry "opx"at the men of the clothes homes,,,new software and mck's may be a better solution ...use the hunt group to ring far end fone and have site did fna to vm...using mck with an isdn and sleep mode"only wakes"active" when ringing and in use ..idle "no minute usage when sleeping" or ip..usuing a bcm 50

Your local telco will typically give you the two local loops in two different places with the same number, as long as they're in the same wire center/CO. I've done that for a week or two when I moving from apartment to house nearby. Its just the regular rate for each local loop.

So, for each pastor, order a POTS line with the same number for the residence and church, and treat it as a private line in the ICS. It will ring simultaneously in both places, and if no one answers Norstar Voice mail will pick up and take the message.

Not true DID, but no one has to know. Maybe you could even get consecutive numbers with a DID block. The downside, though, is that someone calling from the church would have to dial the outside number, and vice-versa for the pastor.

Where Iam they cant get off permise DIDs. So what we have done in the past is get ATAs and run them to each location thru the telco and program the DID number also on each persons ATA for there house. It would ring at the office and home but would only get picked up by the office phones mail box.

Thanks! Several good ideas to ponder.

For 500 "Bonus Points", what's the minimum software level to get Hunt Groups?

I think the ATA and Hunt Group using OPX is going to do it.

I thank you all for giving this some thought. And thanks to Tek-Tips, once again.

I'm thinking hunt groups first came out with 5.0 but I have no docs handy to verify.
