Hi
We currently have an IIS6 server hosting many web sites and applications but only 2 application pools. We would now like to divide the applications into a number of new application pools to improve stability and troubleshooting, but we are somewhat concerned about the drawbacks.
Are there any resource considerations to be made when adding application pools? I.e. will we need a fixed amount of memory / CPU for each new application pool? If so then we will have to adjust the amount of pools to the server's memory, if not then we should be able to create hundreds of new pools if needed.
Thanks,
Tim
