Application Hang - Word

I am storing documents on an XP Professional machine and have three users accessing them using Office XP.

Word is hanging frequently on all machines - the event log records:

Faulting application winword.exe, version 9.0.0.4527, faulting module winword.exe, version 9.0.0.4527, fault address 0x0014af29.

Also every now and again this error appears in the event log:

fault bucket 03288248

Dr Watson gives:

The application, c:\program files\Microsoft Office\office\winword.exe, generated an application error. The error occurred on day @ time. The exception generated was c0000005 at address 3014AF29 (WINWORD)

Any help appreciated.

i had a similar problem and ended up going to microsoft offices home page and updated my service pack. This fixed the problem immediately.
