Hi anyone,

I have written a Clipper 5 application which we are using with three users simultaniously for a few years (first in W98 later with XP) with no problems until now.
I have installed the application on a MS Server 2003 with RAID 1 and the application is again used by three users simultaniously all on XP systems.
When someone is using the application and adding some data to a database with SAY GET, at one inpredictible time the
the applicication crashes at random places at random times
without any message or warning. Sometimes it doesn't happen for days and sometimes it happens a few times a day.
This is very annoying because when this happens all the input is lost and I have to start all over again with the input.

Is this a known problem by anyone?
Can anyone help me solve this problem or give me suggestions?

Thanks very much

Hi, Etsil

This sounds very much like the infamous "opportunistic locking" (oplocks) problem when running legacy apps on MS servers.

It requires registry patches to both the server and the workstation so that file and record locking will work properly in that environment.

See Thread288-555754 for an example. Search engines will give lots of hits on that subject.
