hi
i am new to applet. i add some features to an applet project. i use j2sdk1.4.2_06.

i need to learn if i compile my applet in that version what kind of problem i can face on end user IE ( or Nescape or ... ).

i know IE has applet support, but for which version. is there any table for version of IE and its supporting java version.

or if IE does not support is there any simple way to direct the user to dowload last version of jvm.

thanks for any help

AFAIK the IE simply supports the usage of a JRE, and the user installs a modern JRE if he likes.
Simply point to the sun-site, to a current JRE (which is 1.5.0 as I write this), which will run your 1.4.2 code too.

You can never know which JRE has a browser.

IE can have MSJVM or any version of Sun Java Plugin, depending of the installation the user had made.

Cheers.
