apple mail quits when trying to forward

I have a very annoying glitch in my Applemail on my desktop if I try to forward a message mail crashes as soon as I hit the forward button. Any ideas. i have repaired permissions and it is still happening. I also did disk repair from the CD the other day but still this problem.
I know I can copy and paste it into a new message but I would rather find out what may be causing this problem.

Hi well just in case anyone else gets this problem I found that I had to rebuild the mailbox .
Now it seems to work fine.
My thanks to those on the OSX@osxlist.com for the solution.
