I've previously been running Mail and connecting to our Exchange server with no problems. I was connecting using an IMAP account and had no problems.

After setting up some other machines using the Exchange account option I decided I'd switch mine to be an Exchange account also.

Bad idea. It didn't work. The connection is refused - apparently a login/password problem.

I tried reverting back to IMAP. Same problem. Neither Exchange or IMAP account types will work.

I am 100% certain the login info is correct and the settings are correct.

I can connect with no problem using Thunderbird with IMAP.

I just tried using another machine to connect via IMAP in Mail and got the same password problem.

The only option I can think of is to change my password on the Exchange server - but this doesn't explain how come Thunderbird is still working.

Any ideas. Prior to messing around with it, everything was working fine.

The "7" in the title was meant to be an ampersand :)

It's Mail 3.2 I'm having trouble with.

I've also tried dumping all the plist files in an effort to 'reset' Mail. No difference. Even with a fresh prefs file I can't connect to the Exchange server using Mail.

Fixed it.

I set up the account as normal ignoring the errors. Then changed the authentication method to Password rather than NTLM.

The odd thing is, I had tried this already with no luck AND other Macs are working fine using NTLM.
