This is something new for me, fellows!

One of my projects, when being loaded into VFP 7.0 SP1, momentarily displays a wait window saying "Apphook class loaded. Press Alt+F11 etc."

I once tried App. Builder, but I found it unfit to my purposes, so I just cancelled it. After that this message started to appear. Apparently, some entry have been made into the project table. How do I eliminate this reference to the Application Builder in the project?

AHWBGA.

Ilya

You created you application with the application wizard, and the information is store in a metafile. On startup it detects that fact. Short of deleting you project files (pjt, pjx) creating a new project (without the wizard)and reloading all your files into your project...

No, Mike, I did not create that project with Application Wizard, I never have: it starts with inquiry for the database, and I never have a database (DBC) in my projects, free tables only. That's the nature of our business, we cannot use DBC, we use only DBFs.

Subramanian,

Thank you, Sir, your advise has helped! I did find that Project Class was checkmarked indieed, even though I did not do it myself. Got no clue how it happened, but it does not matter now.

Thank you all, colleagues!

Case is resolved and closed.

Regards,

Ilya

Really? After testing on my system, by creating a wizard project and creating a non-wizard project, I noticed that in the first instance the apphook.vcx library gets inputed in the project, in the second instance it does not. I may be wrong but...

That was the mistery for me, too, Mike!
I only clicked on the project's box header and selected "Builder", saw some messagebox and slapped Enter without reading. Next thing I knew - that wait window I was talking about at the beginning of that thread.

I just repeated these steps but did pay closer attention this time. Now I know where this Apphook class came from.

Thanks!

P.S. The funny thing is that I myself always tell end users to read the messages my programs display (which they never do anyway)... And, alas! got into the same trap myself...
Will know better next time!

Sorry bro...gotta side w/Ilya myself.

Same darn thing happened to me to in 60.

I still think code sometimes reverts to old code, as I swear I have fixed this one error 5 or 6 times, and it still keeps coming back.

Don't know if I can blame VFP as I use Roxio's GoBack to revert my drive sometimes....but still I wonder.
