In MS Word (I'm currently using Word 97), it's easy to insert page cross references by pointing to a bookmark on the page to be referenced. But I'd also like to cross reference Appendix letters, so that if the letters change, I can automatically update the cross references.

For example, the text might read, "...go to Appendix F, the Glossary of Terms." If another appendix is inserted which causes Appendix F to become G, I'd like to be able to update that cross reference the way I do pages, without having to change each reference manually.

Is there a short Visual Basic program that would do that job? If so, please let me know what it is. Or is there another way to do it that I've missed?

Thanks!
