Appending from Spreadsheet

I am having problems with one of the systems in our office appending a table from a spreadsheet. Append works fine on all workstations but one. When I type in the command

Append from myfilename.xls XLS on this computer I get a

Fatal Error Exception Code 000005

If I copy the spreadsheet to a csv file the append works fine. Its really not a big deal but wonder what is causing the spreadsheet append to abort.

I'd start by checking to see if this user has a different version of the VFP runtimes in use. Next, I'd check to see if this system has approximately the same amout of available memory as the others when they start the Append. (Total memory may make some difference, but available "real" memory can be very critical!) I'd also check to make sure this user isn't running some unique program that's stepping on VFP's memory - screen savers, "old" device drivers, shareware apps and virus checkers are the first to check for.

Virus or virus SCANNER would be my guess. Try turning off virus protection if there's any.
