How can i append data without destroying the related tables,
example when I want to append all records from a diskette. thanks in advance

Is this what you are looking for:

use filename
append from a:\filename

which will append all records from diskette to the open file.

Keep in mind that stand-alone indexes (.IDX files) if they are being used, will not be updated unless they are explicitly opened:

USE SomeTable INDEX IDXFile1, IDXFile2....
APPEND FROM A:\SomeTable
-or-
APPEND FROM A:\SomeFile SDF &&... for text file

Probably not applicable in more "modern" systems, but it's something to double check.
