I am trying to run an append query and am getting a key violations error. I checked the fields in both tables and they are the same data type and none are indexed. I cannot think of any other reasons why I would get this error. It is saying all but about 30 records can't be appended. The unique ID in the table being appended to is an auto number.

Thanks for any ideas.

Just to add...I made a test copy of the table and added each field one at a time, and it worked fine (of course, everything isn't appended in the correct record), it just won't append when I try to do all in same query. What do you think could be causing the problem?

Thanks?

Dawn

Another thing I should add is that the table being appended to is a JOIN table. It has the CompanyID from one table and the ShowID from another table. All the records are already in the Company and Show table so the ID's being appended exist in the parent table.

NEVERMIND, Duh!! I accidentally put the autonumber field as the field to update. Can this post be deleted? Sorry?
