app suddenly hanging

We have 3 servers with SQL installed. From our VB app, we run a procedure that will select ~ 1000 records, do some processing and then updates. This routine runs off the master server, one the master it runs fine, when it run against one of the others servers, it hangs(holds on to locks). This has been running for quite a while with no problems, until this week. Is there a SQL Server setting that was possible changed? The VB code has not been touch.

Servers have all been rebooted duing the week, we've had numerous problems. Will try it tomorrow morning, Thanks,
