i have installed Solaris 9 and installed the apache web server that was on the installation cd ... but it won't work ... how do i go about troubleshooting it??

It won't work?

More detail please! You can't connect to it? The httpd processes aren't running? Have you tried *anything*? Check /var/adm/messages, /var/log/* and anywhere Apache might be logging messages, such as /var/httpd/... perhaps. Annihilannic.

I beleave that the version that come with Solaris 9 is an out of date version. Version before 1.3.27 have security issues. I would download the newest version from apache.org and install that one. As for figuring out your problem see if you have a a log directory in your apache directory. If you do change to the log directory and read the log file it should tell you why it is not staring.

Hope this helps
