Apache installed - IE 6 Very Slow

Hi all,

I have installed Apache on Windows XP Pro expecting it to work as other installs have in the past.
This is a new machine set up with Windows XP Pro SP1, including IE 6.

I installed Apache, and the monitor icon came up ok and says that the service is running.
Anytime I open up a browser, it takes AGES to load, and if I go

http://localhost

it just doesn't want to do anything.

If I uninstall Apache, the web browser is fine and I can visit any site pretty quick.

Any ideas what may be causing this? I am running Apache on my laptop (XP Pro) and another desktop (XP Home) and both work fine.
