Hi guys, I know this must be another stupid question of mine. I have created apache webserver and it is already running with test page on it. But my another problem is how to copy my webpage to the server /var/
I installed vsftpd ftp server, when create users then path on /var/ as a home dir. it doesnt working, it gives me error. aside from ftp how could i copy my files to the web server /var/
Thanks a lot.

I kinda like proftpd myself. You can get the rpm version from ftp://ftp.servus.at/ProFTPD/distrib/packages/RPMS
You need to chroot (jail) the user to their home directory. This is done in a lot of different ways depending on the ftp server you are using. With proftpd, it's just a matter of uncommenting one line in /etc/proftpd.conf

Floppy drive, cd. How is your vsftp setup?
There is a file called vsftpd.conf in the /etc/vsftpd directory. Allow Anonymous should = no and their is a file called /etc/vsftpd.ftpusers that you need to remove the account that you are trying to login with.

Thanks guys..

RhythmAce: if I chroot the dir /var/ its sub dir, does it affect the system? i mean if i chroot i might get any trouble in the future. does it? if not what is the possible effect on this? thanks..

I already ablt to login to ftp home folder /var/ have a right access.

Thanks
