AOL --> Outlook 2002 1

I was wondering if there was any method of transferring mail from AOL to Outlook XP. I have a friend who wants to drop AOL in favor of Outlook and another ISP, but they have tons of email and an address book under AOL. Is there any mail translation program that Outlook can use to download mail from AOL? Or is this a strictly manual process? Thanks!
