hi,
Just making sure Im working with WinNT Server to the best of its possibilities. Is there anything I should be doing on a regular basis as far as RAM or HD to make sure everything is running smoothly and as fast as possible.

Win98 has a defrag option ect...what about winNT Server.

Thanks for anything you can think of
Steve

defrag...
also, set up Performance monitor, create a baseline, and then set up alerts on certain triggers... I have not failed, I just found 10000 ways that don't work

hi sounds like a great idea. Would someone mind explaining in a few more words what a basline is and how I should go about setting that up. I will be experimenting so your comments would still be receptive..

Thanks

baseline = performance monitor output that is normal for dialy use for a healthy server

In the future :
When you take the values as captured with performance monitor, and compare them with the baseline values, then you can easily find where you have bottlenecks on your server...

Is this clear enough ? I have not failed, I just found 10000 ways that don't work
