Does anyone here use Visual Vectors for programming? From the sales pitch, it sounds like it would help with vector changes. Anyone using it have any pros or cons for getting it?

Thanks,

Tom

If you do changes regularly than you probarly will get pretty famiiar with all the commands in DEFINITY and Visual Vectors will feel slow.
If you don't change vectors that often it could be helpfull.

If you have these managers that don't have a clue of what a call center application is but they are there to stay and they want to understand callflows Visual Vectors coulb be a nice tool to show them what the vector you just wrote does.

Like kids it is easier for them to understand graphics and things that have nice colours.

You just creat the vector in DEFINITY and show it to them with Visual Vectors or make a screen shot from Visual Vectors.

Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.

I thought that Visual Vectors would be a good tool for automatic call flow diagrams, but it is not.

It does not do a good job of printing Vectors with more than a few steps (which you could draw easily anyway). There is no way to size a larger diagram so that it fits well on single page printout, and it does not allow you to copy or export the diagram objects to a program such as Visio where you could manipulate the objects more effectively.

I agree with Europe that in very little time the terminal programming is easier to use than Visual Vectors, so for us it has had very little value. Robert Harris
