I am trying to install CF Studio on a laptop. The problem I run into is browsing the file in Studio. IE doesn't seem to want to work unless it is connected to the Internet. I don't want to go online, I just want to view my files as I am editing them. Someone else solve this? Thanks! Calista :-X

Yes, I use it all the time. If you go into IE -- Internet Options, Connections, check the default dial-up connection and set the option to Never Dial a connection. This should prevent you from getting a connect to internet option when you fire up IE. (Of course the down side is that it willnot prompt you to connect when you fire up IE for a "real" internet connection)

Follow up: OK, I'm using a laptop at the office (MIS killed my PC, but that's another subject.). I am connected to a network drive that has my working files. I have Studio and PWS on the laptop. How do I set the development mapping so I can view files on my network drive? Calista :-X

Go to Debug -- Development Mappings:

Studio Path : [Path to your files on the network server]
CF Server Path: Same as Studio Path
(If you are running CF on the Laptop with PWS, then it will see the files like you would)

Browser Path : (Usually, if you are starting at the root of your web site)

OK, thanks! BTW, I got my PC back in 2 1/2 hours with upgraded software and a bigger hard drive. Hmmm, maybe I should crash my computer more often. Calista :-X

Hey, not bad -- hmmmm, my computer has been acting up lately. Maybe time for an accidental fdisk or something..... B-)
