Anyone news on converting Quark docs

This is not a problem to be fixed. You cannot convert Publisher, Ventura or Canvas files either.
Quark XPress 6 saves down to Quark XPress 5 documents: Quark XPress 5 saves down to Quark XPress 4 documents: InDesign opens Quark XPress 4 documents.
This is the only way to do this and there are plenty of reasons why this will not change. If you want the lengthy list of those reasons, check out adobeforums.com
InDesign CS came out at the same time that Quark 6 came out so there is no reason to expect Adobe programmers to have known how to import a Quark file format that was not developed yet.
