someone asked me this question but i don't know the answer :(

i did a quick search on the web and found that coreldraw uses .ink extension but couldn't find anything more.

any pointer or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I believe it is a CorelDraw format. mot98

i thought it was coreldraw as well.but i searched its knowledgebase and my impression is that it only uses it for file conversion. a special file named coreldraw.ink gets mentioned a number of times. but that's all.

i also found on the web that virtual link's mimio uses the .ink file format. but that's for whiteboard recording. i don't think it's related to my friend's problem. here is her original question:

First what is an Ink File?? My son sent me some photos on Outlook Express and I couldn't access them as they were an Ink File. How do you change this file to a jpg file.
When I scan something and try to send it it also ends up an Ink File. What shows up when I am sending it is "windows pictures and fax finder" Is the photo somehow going through a fax line or something weird. No I haven'at faxed from my computer. Thanks in advance for your help

Just curious, but are you sure that wasn't a .lnk file, with an L? That would explain it as a linked file on your friends' son's machine, explaining why she couldn't open it. The test continues...

Yes, .LNK is the file extension for a Windows shortcut. Perhaps they emailed the shortcut instead of the actual files themselves?
