Anyone know a product that.....

Does anyone know of a product that will allow us to automate large numbers of outbound text messages to mobile phones? The capability to automate calls & play an announcement on answer/pickup by Voicemail would also be useful.

I know of company's that do this but we want to keep it internal, & I can't find any products that may do this through Definity

Help much appreciated!

What type of messages would you be sending? Would these be generated from your PBX, or just through a pre-typed flat file?

Basic advertising, the simplest way possible really so a flat file probably the best option..

Tried everything I could think of in Google before posting on here but to no avail. This was about the closest I've come:

but it's for carrier grade switches, will keep searching!.....thanks for help though.

From the first part of your post, you just wanted a way to send basic advertising to cell phones (via text messaging).

How are you looking to integrate this with Avaya? Would this be something an agent sends from their desktop after a customer inquires on a certain product?

We get the information from our db when customer wants to terminate their contract (a flag is put on their account), we will pull this info & send them an offer to try & retain their custom - ideally it would be a voice message requesting them to call in if they like the new offer, text is a start though.

Numbers direct from our db, sending in a batch through the switch once a day.

Not sure if this makes it any clearer !

That sounds pretty interesting.

I think sending the text to a cell phone is a pretty cool idea. Most people hate phone solicitors, but a simple text message would probably go over quite well!

This sounds like some type of CTI application combined with some sort of Outbound dialer program. I don't know of an exact program for this, but it sound like it is some type of application that could be built on a CTI server. You may want to try calling Avaya CTI at 800.344.9670 opt 1, they may be able to help point you in the right direction.

We have a fax server that does blast back faxes depending on flags from a data base. Certain reports pull specific data and send a specific fax message. Since most cells are capable of getting text msg, maybe you can do similar thing.
