Anyobody know about COM ADD INS????

I have a question about Com Add-Inn's in Outlook 2000. I want to change the default path from, C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Application Data\Microsoft\AddIns, to a common folder. That way I don't have to install the comm add in for each user that accesses the computer.

Well...you can install a COM addin to any location, but the user the user still has to, from within Outlook, &quot;go load it&quot;. Anne Troy

This is what we have figured out so far:
I found that you can register the Com Add-In under the HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins path. But Outllok is still pulling from the path I mentioned above.
My goal is to install this Add-In once and be done with it. Not install it each time a user logs on to a machine. There must be a way to do this, even if I am off base with my idea.
By the way We use roaming profiles - maybe I can put it in everyone's profile??

You're in network territory here, and not client-side Outlook stuff, so I'd probably ask in the network forum.

The other thing that bothers me is &quot;local machine&quot; when I'd think you'd need to change &quot;current user&quot; instead? I'm not sure.

Isn't the Com Add-Ins path a Outlook issue? Do you know how to change the default Com Add-Ins Pathe for Outlook 2000???

This depends more, I think, on the OS than the version of Outlook.

Here's how I can find mine:

Open Outlook.
Tools-Options.
Other tab.
Advanced button.
COM Addins.
Add.
Hit the dropdown and make note of the path...
