Hi ,

After man attempts to install openssh and get it working I finally managed it ( hurray ).

A big thank you oto everyone who sent responses to the question.

I have moved onto the next level.....

Can anyone help with setting up public keys to use for authentication? I need to create a secure encryted tunnel between two servers and need to send data down it. The problem I have at them moment if I use scp or ssh to connect to the remote server It asks for a password. I don't want it to ask for a password.

Anybody any ideas.......

1) cd to .ssh for your user (for root it's in /)
2) Copy your identity.pub and id_dsa.pub files to the other server. (ssh1 and ssh2 public keys)
3) Add identity.pub to authorized_keys, id_dsa.pub to authorized_keys2 in the .ssh directory. If the files don't exist just create them with 644 permissions.
