Hi everyone-
Wanted to ask if anyone has any big complaints or suggestions about implementing MS Exchange with a Citrix Environment. Any know kwirks?

we are considering moving to exchange-
My end users are using Outlook 2000 from their published desktop-

My farm consists of 10 XPe servers (FR2, Ctx SP3);
Windows 2000 WTS

We are considering the move because with our current Email Server (I-Mail by Ipswitch/POP3 Accounts) my end users are experiencing DROPS WITH THEIR PST FILE which sits in a Network Share. Outlook loses its connection with the pst file and my end users have to exit Outlook and re-open it. We were told that Exchange (no pst files) will fix this... (?)
ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Many thanks in advance!!!!

Brandon

Hi,

What you could do, is ensure each client has a hosts and lmhosts file properly configured with all the servers/IP address.

Outlook will look at hosts/lmhosts/dns so that may help you, try it on one of your users.

Cheers,
Carl.

bran2235,
We used to have a problem with Outlook XP and pst files. The issue we had was the user would attach the pst and then try to access it and it would throw up a error message. It would say something like "pst file already in use".
We found an article where Microsoft recommends that you use a drive letter instead of UNC.
So we did the modification and it worked!
What we did was in Outlook we removed the pst and attached the pst via a network drive. So instead of saying \\server\share\%username%\file.pst we changed it to say "W:\file.pst".

Don't know if that helps but you can give it a shot.
Thanks.

Carl and 'enigma',

Thanks for the replys!!
Carl- all of my end users are on thin-clients not 'fat PCs'; and

enigma, I WILL GIVE IT A SHOT!!!!!! YOU will difinitely get a 'star' from me if this works- I will for sure let you both know what happens...

Thanks again!!!!!
Brandon
