Any good sources for creating Split Databases?

I need to create a database that will be used by users on several different networks and access it across not-to-fast WAN links. Does anybody have some good FREE sources of info relating to creating DBs in this fashion? I will very likely need to make extensive use of unbound controls and VBA. I have an Access 2000 VBA book but it only touches on the subject.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
