I was looking at the local CompUSA and noticed that Norton Antivirus box indicated that it worked with W2000 Pro but said nothing about Server. What are you using on your servers for vrus protection?

You should only use the Corp edition on Servers. I specifically asked a Symantec engineer about this. =============

Corp Ed. has both a server component and client component that will work for any version of windows (9x, NT, 2000 XP). I believe it even comes with a dos and windows 3.1 client.

It is by far the best AV software i've found.

It may be good but it is also an absolute nightmare when you have to remove this program. You have to remove endless registry entries. My prior environment consisted of the NAV Corp Edition. And I do think it is a good product, but the program populates itself everywhere. I think MCAFEE is a better product. Just my opinion.

Mcafee is v good. Especially if you get orchestrator with it. Excellent for 2000 domains.

We're moving from InoculateIT to McAfee here, InoculateIT is good IMO (especially for small-medium size businesses) just we now have a global McAfee licensing agreement.

AV software is funny thing. It's like a religion with some people. I love NAVCE and have had nothing but problems with past sites that used McAfee. Then there are users who love it and hate Norton.

Like most things experience is the key to happiness with a product.

I do know what you mean about having to tunnel into the registry if a NAVCE uninstall goes bad, but it wasn't that bad.

But in our corp. evironment, if anything really gets hosed on a user's desktop, I just reimage their workstation and all is backup in a few minutes. Since nothing is stored locally, that works quite well. =============
