Hopefully a pathetically simple one this but it slips my mind at the moment.
An incoming call to an ADN, for example appearing on a DBC213 can be answered simply by lifting the handset as with the ODN. How, if possible, is this activated?
If that exists, and there's an incoming call on ODN and another one on ADN.....wich one will be answered when lifting the handset?
The simplest way is a 'follow me' (*21*) from ADN to ODN, but I think that isn't what you're looking for.
ADN is used in different solutions to make other functions
on the dts that doesn't interfere with the ODN .
Some examples.
BOSS-Secretary .
A ADN is made both on the boss and the secratarys phones.
E.g Boss has a ADN with number 121 , Secretary with number 122 .
121 has hotline to 122 (SPEXI w/opt=N)
122 has hotline to 121
Both sides has call alternative 6 (CALALT=6) witch
indicate automatic answering in speaker mode.
Result:
A two way intercom line between them.
ACD
If a dts is to be made a member of an ACD group
ADN's has to be used as the member line .
Night service(popular):
An ADN is placed on a dummy phone (e.g number 131)
This ADN is multiple represented on upto 31 dts phones
as a MDN number.
In front of this ADN/MDN number 131 there is a hunt(GH) group(e.g number 141) to allow queing against the ADN,
and the ADN is initieted as a member of the GH group 141.
Operator corgs and RODNI/ROCDI is set to divert incoming
calls during night switched exchange to hunt group 141.
Result:
Incoming call nightswitched exc. is delivered as a parallel call to all 31 extensions , and anyone can pick up the call.
Here is where MNS comes handy . If a user has answered the
night call on his MDN key , this one is busy on the whole chain , making it impossible for another call to be answered by one of the others in the chain.
Well then if all the 31 MDN's are programmed as an MNS key
with any digits on it ,the functionality changes when answering an incoming call to it .
When answering in the nightswitced pbx example the call is automaticly moved to the ODN(Access1 line). This way
the next call in nightswitched exchange can be answered by another person in the chain of MDN'S with MNS functionality on it as the ADN/MDN/MNS is free(not busy).
There is lots of other ways to use the ADN's MDN's MNS
functionality . But i hope you get the idea from theese
examples.
Another example for the road:
Stock Brokers:
Hunt Group 151.
6 ADN's (171-176)
Hunt group initiated as sequential searching (SEL=0XX)
ADN's initiated in the gh group in 171-176 order.
Theese adns multiple represented without MNS
on several brokers phones on a additional key panel.
Together with several other groups ADN's like this one.
Calls is delivered to vi group to ADN/MDN 1 , ADN/MDN2(if no.1 is busy)
The broker parks the no.2 line with a CUP key
and shouts to a colleque that there is a call to him
at the BH-group line no.2 .
