Answer DN - Target Line?

MICS 6.1 with DTI when assigning Answer DN why dont target lines have coverage? I am able to pick up all other calls. Is there a way of including these DID's. Also is there a way to eliminate coverage for intercom calls?

if you want target line of exten A rinigng on extnB:

Just assign target line A on extension B

terminals and sets
extn B
show , show , show
target line A
appr/ring

thats it .. (assuming the target line A is not pvt to extnA)

Just put an appearance of the DID onto the second set instead of using answer DN?

Thanx to both of you. This works if no voicemail is involved, however if it is and the phone with the same appearing target line has a lower DN or is on DND its voicemail box answers. I do know that a way around this is to increase the # of rings before VM answers on the covering phone but in this scenario it wont work since one set has to cover the others target lines. It also wont resolve the DND issue

If you assign the target did # to a virtual station (a sta # not being used)then add an answer dn to the station you want it to ring at. You can treat the virtual dn like a real station (assign mbx etc) and it will ring at the answer dn station, but use the mbx settings at the virtual station. Only problem is you get no message light from the virtual station.
There was a thread showing how to send two mbx's to one station not to long ago.

change the control set and the prime set on the target line to the desired extension - not the phone where it rings on

Thanks wayne987 Interesting solution... however the answer DN assignment still wont ring on a target line assigned to an ext. virtual or real.

By the way I should have asked this in my original post is there any way to have a screened transfer on a target line?
( using CP, NAM, or Flah

the screened transfer is available per mailbox in hte newer systems (CP, NAM)

when the station is called thru AA, the system screens the call

so you are saying even when the target line is programmed on a set as Appr & Ring, it still rings on the intercom key?

No it rings on the button that is programmed
