Hello All,

The message below appeared in our TSM server log a couple of day's ago. I have seen it before and its self explaintory I am curious Is there a certain amount of MB that has to change in the database for this message to appear? The DB backup did run successfully soon after and the message did not appear again.

Also, is there a limit to the amount it will reach
before it becomes a serious issue? Or does all this
depend on certain factors such as the DB size?

ANR2121W ATTENTION: More than 692 MB of the database has changed and the last database backup was more than 24 hours ago. Use the BACKUP DB command to provide for database recovery.

TSM 5.3
Aix 5.3

If you neglect to perform a BackupDb for some time and a significant amount of Database updating has occurred, you will be reminded of this by an ANR2121W message in the activity log as we currently experienced.
Basicly the message is a warning message, it can be ignored until the next database backup ocurr.

Since I do not not how often we perform a database backup.
May need to perform a backup of the database once every 24hr or more frequent.

If something happen to the TSM Server we will lose 692MB of data when we restore the database.

"Also, is there a limit to the amount it will reach
before it becomes a serious issue?"
To answer your question with a question, how much data can you aford to lose?

Good Luck,
Sias :)
