anonymous access asking for user password

On 2003 IIS6, My web site is configured with "enable anonymous access" and the user has read permission in the folder. When I go to that site, I am being asked for a user password.

I have check NTFS permission and different setup and cannot find it.

Any ideas.. Anyone saw that before?

Does the IUSR_<computer> account have read permissions on the directory?

Yes is has... I think I have found the problem... The password of IUSR has changed somehow. I have duplicated the problem on a test machine.
