Announcements

I have an annoucment board in our system. I want an announcement on our ACD. I can't seem to record it or do anything with it.

When I dial it, I get a busy. When I dial the feature code to program the announcement, I just keep getting dial tone. Am I missing something???

To use the announcement record feature the station doing the recording must have 'Console Permissions' in their Class of Service (COS). After you dial the feature access code you then dial the announcement extension to be recorded. At the next dial tone press '1' to start recording.

Just one thing to add. You may want to change your COR to one with the least amount of permissions. We have our announcements set at a COR with a 0 FRL. I cannot back up this theory. I only remembering reading something in the Avaya documentation about it being a risk. I hope someone can remember what I forgot and enlighten us. I am sure I read something about this. Hope this helps.
