Announcement Problems 2

I have a problem with the announcements on an S8720 system running in CM 3.1.2. Everytime I add an announcement or modify one I need to first unprotect all of the other current announcements before making any modifications, which is very tedious/impractical since the system has several hundred recordings spanning on Announcement and VAL boards.

Has anyone of you guys encountered this issue? Are there any patches for CM 3.1.2 that could somehow resolve this?
