Animation accross the sceen

Hello: I am a novice at VB and would like to know how I get an animated graphic appear like its moving across the screen? I am building a horse race with 6 horses, stopping them at a finish line. I plan on starting the race with a start button. using a "Restart button to bring them back to the starting line. Any help on what code I should use would be greatly appreciated.

I'd goto the book store and look for books on VB and games. This is a very broad question that most people here will dive into.

But offhand I think the only control you have automatically to display an animated GIF is the Internet controls.
You could move them by adjusting their .Left property.

is more than you need at the moment it does contain the information on how to draw sprites and animate them, and it contains the information you need to create a double buffer for smooth graphic rendering and so much more. It is well worth the investment.
