Hello All,

We have recently installed an OPT 61c rel 3.0 that is a remote off of our SL-100 and are trying to configure/purchase/come up with a way for our techs to ID lines in the field from the 61. The contractor that installed this tells us that this does not exist. There are 2 PRI trunks linking the switches together. The contractor is wanting to install an additional piece of gear off of the SL-100 to allow this capability. We have an access number our techs use currently from the 100 side that does this, but it does not work from the 61. Any ideas or is this the only way. Do most OPT techs mainly use the local lec number??

Thanks for any advice

Are you talking about ID'ing DNs???
If so we use a little box that emulates a 2616 it's made by DTI and simply called a "Digital Test Phone".

Yes it will be used to ID DN's. Does this Test phone tell you the number or does it sit on a desk and someone tells you the number that is calling??

DTI doesn't make that test box any more. I wish someone else would copy it and start selling it. It simulated a digital phone on the Nortel Systems.

if the 61 is setup to clid the did number then the 100 anac will be able to read it.. i can dial local anac from my 81 and sets that have clid 5 (built to show the did) i get the correct reading.. BUT, i'm at a hospital so most stations show the hospitals main number.. so i use call pilot, leave myself a msg and i get a page in 2 sec with the number i'm on.. not as easy but it works

I've sent a message to Algo, a company I think could make this with a few tweaks of one of the products they sell.

Their "AuxBox" emulates a digital set in a lot of ways, and it captures the display, etc. etc. I am hoping they, or anyone else that could market these, will do so

I tossed out a few "requirements" and maybe others will add to the list

-----------------------------------------

- User programs a digital set TN with display, plugs your box in and when called, the box reads back the calling number

- If a test call is placed from a set with "DDGD" (hides your DN from display on called set) then your box should say "dash-dash-dash-dash" (The DTI box would read the DN of the last "good" call if you called from a DDGD set)

- Related to that - the ability to detect and speak "dash" is important since on some calls the Route Access Code + [dash here] + Member Number displays if Caller ID is not delivered-

- Capable of reading the first set of digits without spaces from start to end - this would enable readback of external
Caller ID (and Route Access Codes-Member Numbers

- A timeout feature that fully releases the line/hangs up after "X" seconds. (DTI would stay connected if you answered the return test call and walked away)

- Consider having it an ACD phone so multiple techs can queue for the box.

- Consider a feature (maybe another DN KEY) that reads back text so a tech can verify the Name is correct)

Thanks for all the info

Am new to the 61 so am trying to absorb all I can.

If you happen to have Symposium integrated with CallPilot or Meridian Mail then you can write a simple script to read back your DN. This has the advantage that it will also read the DN even if the set has DDGD.

Excellent idea to contact Algo Gene - I'm sure they could do that. One more feature would be callback capability.

This seems to be an older post. Hopefully someone reads this. I was looking for the same feature on my system.
I have a 81c with call pilot and symposium. Has anyone been able to write a script which allows this feature. The box which reads back DN's for testing purposes also sounds great. Does anyone know of a company who currently makes these?

I'm sure DTI,s Copyright has expired by now, they were bought by MCK and they never made the box. So Hong Kong company should make one.
