i have a two column document in which i have to insert a number of tables, some of which are only one column in width, some of which should partially straddle, with text running around them.

using the table designer i have a separate file where all the tables are auto-numbered.

i inserted table 1 (one column width) with no problem.

table two is about 1.5 columns wide so i would like text to run around it. the help file says that if i insert a text box into an object frame the tables will no longer autonumber (i tried and this is true). however, when i try to put the table into a text box within an anchored frame, the numbering stays but i cannot get the text to wrap around correctly. either it won't wrap at all or if i choose "run into paragraph" it does rather odd things (small strips of text running down the edge of one column, for example) or running in the normal two-columns and overwriting the text box - in other words, a mess.

i can't figure it out and i have about 17 of these tables so i need to know!
