analogue phone over scn

Hi All,

i have set up an scn between 2 ip 500s on v5. i can dial out ok on the ip and ds phones, but the one analogue refuses to dial out, I have changed its extension number. Cann anyone help?

Are you trying to dial out over the SCN with the analog phone or dial out from the local switch? If you are trying to dial over the SCN, can you complete the call from the location where the analog extension is located?
 
i can make calls without issues on the analogue on the switch. As soon as i try to dial a remote extension over scn, it fails. I need to check monitor on monday. is there anything obvious i need to do to an analogue phone?
 
I guess you have already checked this, but do you have the same extension number on both sides? If so, have you changed one side and rebooted the switches?
 
hmmm, i did change to another extension but i did not reboot the switch. Also i am doing this over RDP, dialing from phone manager, and the phone status in call staus says idle. I had a quick look at monitor and noticed idle come up there as well???
 
phone manager and analog extension won't work remotely, because you need someone to pick up the analog set.
The way it works is you dial - the analog set rings - you pick up and it connects you, actually that is wehn the switch start dialing.
