First, a little background. I'm running a CS1KE, 5.5 software. 4 PRIs for incoming trunks and mostly 1140Es on the floors for admin positions. There were M3904s and 2616s in place of the 1140s before the upgrade (replacement)from the Opt 61c (TDM, no IP). There are several incoming numbers on the PRIs that the customers wants recorded. In order to do this, the previous tech had to come up with a solution to interface to an analog recording system.
Here's what he did:
A DID number from a PRI terminates to a 2500 port. This analog port is then x-connected to a loop start trunk port. The loop-start trk then terms to a PVR number that appears on about 20 phones. Before the upgrade these phones were all 2616s. They are now 1140Es. The recorder is connected in parallel with the 2500-to-TRK analog connection.
The problem:
About once every 3 weeks or so, one of these calls won't drop. I replaced the NT8D09 with a NT1R20 OPS card for the disc supervision. No change (but I feel better about it). I have found that, by DSBL the trk TN, I can clear the symptoms. There seems to be an issue with the IP set and the analog connection not dropping. The OPS side just shows LOCKOUT, and disabling it doesn't affect the seizure one way or the other. Until it is force-disc, the line on the phone (on ANY of the phones)cannot be accessed again. On the phone that just hung-up, it looks like another phone has control of the call. I can only force a disconnect by DSBL the trunk TN connected to the IP set. Disabling the IP set has no affect, either
Has any one heard of this issue before? What have you done to clear it? Fix it? What causes it? What else should I investigate? I have talked to one other local tech and they heard about another site having a VERY similar issue just today.
Thanks in advance for any and all tips and suggestions any one might have.
