Hi all

I have a 406v2 with a phone 30v2 and DS 30 attached running 3.0 (68)

and none of the 32 analog phones will ring.
however if you pickup the phone then you get the call.

I have looked in the monitor software and call status software and aeverything is acting as it should be.

they just don't ring

The phones that they are using are BT Relate 1500

I've checked the avaya site and I know that this was a bug but from there documentation it should have been solved in 68.

has anyone else had this problem or know of a cure, yes I have also switched of cli.

Thanks

Michael

This may sound odd but, I had this problem with another model phone but it worked. Go to the telephony tab and change the default ring to normal ring. I did and haven't had a problem yet.

make syre that the Pot Phones are coinnected to a master skt (or use a master mod-tap), the IPO pot ports are supposed to be mastered but I have found that this does not always work

BT phones always seem to be more fussy about having a master skt, man other brands do not

I'm afraid you might have it there IPGuru - the Phone V2 doesn't provide ringing capacitors.

To quote the new 3.1 installation manual on the Phone V2 -"The ports do not include a ringing capacitor. Therefore for phones where this is a requirement, connection should be via a Master socket containing ringing capacitors."

Though I can't find evidence of it I suspect the POT ports on the IP406 V2 are the same.

Avaya seem to have taken the line that since only the UK and New Zealand regularly need them they can do without.
