Analog Modem Devices On Avaya g450 with 6.xx

So I'm new here as far as posting a question. I have an Avaya G450, at a remote site that has a POS device, debit card reader. It was working before we upgraded to 6.xx from 5.2. Since the upgrade, the transmission crashes. Have checked all firmware releases and have tried every codec setting. The only one that kind of works is the g729AB but this is inconsistent at best. There is 1 analog 1MB line locally for 911 calling and when I send the calls out via this lina all works fine. Any thoughts?

I know this may not help, but it could provide temporary relief -- can you slow down the transmission speed of the terminal?

check the "IP Codec set", page 2. is "FAX" set for "t.38-standard"?
if not, try changing that. Also on the station form, under "XOIP Endpoint type:" set it to "fax"

Thanks to all so far. I have made those changes mentioned regarding to the change of codec parameters on page 2 of the codec set to fax=t.38 and modem=pass through. I have also changed the XOIP endpoint of the station to all the different choices, fax, modem, auto, tty. The only thing that seemed to help was changing the codec to G.729AB but again, this was inconsistent, at best. I will definitely look into slowing down the transmission rate though. I'll post back the results! Oh, btw, faxing at this site works fine. Only the POS devices, there are 2, are having the problem...

try XOIP endpoint device "modem", page 2 of IP-codec-set, "modem", try both "pass through" and "relay", I see you say its a credit card device, which is a modem, not a fax device.

Do you have a PRI or T1 in that same G450 gateway? Have you setup the "synchronization source"? synchronization is very important, for FAX and Modem calls.

"set sync interface primary v4", "set sync source primary" (example for a G450 CLI, assuming MM710B card in slot V4)

There is also a new command in CM6 "set synchronization 001V4", lets you use a media gateway as a synchronization source, rather than the older G650 TN packs only. try also "display sync 001" to see what the system thinks is your sync source for the media gateway.

Also, you MUST have the latest G450 media gateway firmware (31.20.1) for the "remote" synchronization to be set from CM6, with the command "change synchronization media-gateway 1"

you can now adjust the sync source via CM, and don't have to do it with "CLI" commands from the G450, notice under "SYNCHRONIZATION CONTROL", it shows "Remote"...

here is a "show sync timing" from a G450, using "remote" sync via CM6:

CLIENT-G450-001(super)# show sync timing
SYNCHRONIZATION CONTROL: --- Remote ---

SOURCE MM or VoIP STATUS FAILURE
--------- ------------------- ----------------------- ---------------
Primary v4 Active None
Secondary v3 Standby None
Local v0 Standby None

Active Source: v4 Sync Source Switching: Enabled

Done!
CLIENT-G450-001(super)#

Actually, the only trunking on this GW is 1 POTS line for 911 calling. All calls got through the customer WAN back to a "core"
Also, all was working fine until the upgrade 2 weeks ago so I don't believe there is any problem with the WAN links, bandwidth, etc.
